RESPITE CARE SERVICES
Without the selfless commitment of a family caregiver, most dementia patients would have to move from their homes into memory care facilities very early in the progression of their illness.

The family caregiver serves such a vital role in the care and comfort of his or her loved one. But unless caregivers take care of their own physical and emotional health, they will soon burn out and be unable to continue providing that care. Respite care provides short-term relief for family caregivers, giving them a much-needed break to take care of their own needs and recharge their batteries.
Unfortunately, some family caregivers simply cannot afford regular respite care services. Senior Attention provides scholarships for those caregivers who need but cannot afford respite care.

Some patients will never experience some of the symptoms listed in each stage – or perhaps will experience them in a different sequence. Do not expect your family’s journey to follow this scale precisely.
